The Amethyst
With raven black hair and amethyst eyes, Nejiro stood out in SOLDIER, given his eyes were rather unique opposed to other SOLDIERs greens and blues. He is also incredibly adept with a lance or sword in his hands and unlike many newer SOLDIERs, he is also quite handy with firearms as well. And while incredibly skilled with Gaia's materia, he is not so adept at magic, preferring to utilise raw blasts of aether and energy as opposed to complicated spells. Such power having earned him the nickname 'Major Mako' or 'The Mako Major'.
Echo-Blessed
Naturally travelling between worlds has bestowed the necessary Echo on Nejiro. However it is not by Hydaelyn nor Zodiark that he is touched. But some other force, the best theory is that it is from his world, but what entity specifically is unknown. What is known is that it somehow has also given him the power to enter an Eikon-like state when fueled by enough aether, although this state is highly dangerous to use just like any other Primal. And Nejiro struggles to maintain control in the rare occasion he resorts to it. It is also noteworthy that despite his lack of prowess with magic, he has unnaturally large reservoirs of aether, giving him incredible stamina and energy.

Growing Up
Born in Junon, Nejiro was a street orphan in and out of foster care never staying anywhere too long. The boy had a rebellious streak a mile long, a penchant for starting fights, and a tongue sharp as a razor. As such he led a troubled life until the age of 16, when he entered the ShinRa Military Academy, or we should say he was enlisted. Surprisingly though, Nejiro thrived in the ShinRa paramilitary, training with a fervor rendering him ruthlessly effective on the battlefield, even if he was wont to ignore orders on a handy number of occasions.
SOLDIER Strength
Indeed this military excellence would not go unnoticed and such Nejiro was transferred to the SOLDIER programme. Taking quickly to lancework while yet also retaining a military rifle or shotgun to devastating close quarters effectiveness, Nejiro all but assured a swift promotion to Second Class. Eventually though, his promotion to First would be secured through the high level losses suffered in the division with Sephiroth and Genesis deaths. And then in the coming months came the dreaded Meteorfall.
Beyond SOLDIER
As one of few SOLDIER Survivors of Meteorfall and one of even fewer Reunion Survivors, Nejiro was left adrift in the wake of ShinRa's fall from grace. And without their consistent medical attention, the effects of the Jenova and Sephiroth cells in his body began to manifest.

Calamity Strikes
Some way, somehow, In the events of Eorzea's Calamity with Bahamut and Gaia's Meteorfall, people and items wash up from Gaia on Eorzean shores. Nejiro one of them. Lost and Alone, he has to begin a new life and make his way in this foreign world.
Eorzean Adventures
With next to nothing to his name, Nejiro needed to get on his feet. Taking up a fallen adventurers axe, he'd join the Limsa Lominsa Adventurers Guild. First replacing his ruined clothes with some cheap gear, he'd get to work. Slowly gaining strength and prestige for fighting monsters and miscellaneous mercenary work. Eventually even enlisting in the Maelstrom Military and rising through the ranks to become a most elite warrior and esteemed officer.
Roaming the Realm
Word of his deeds would reach as far as Ishgard, which had begun to accept more travelers as of late. Venturing into the snowy lands he'd continue his usual lines of work. At his surprise, he even befriended dragons along the way. Although his time there was all too short as the war carried word to him of Ala Mhigo, and he insisted on returning to help. Defeat at the hands of Zenos would sting him hard however, and more the shock as he watched even the famed Warrior of Light be laid low by the brute. But fate would twist yet again. As word of some comrades from his homeworld reached him. They were somewhere in the lands of Doma. Naturally in pursuit of this lead he had to set up in Kugane. And his trade of fighting monsters was welcomed yet again.
Shadows of the Scions
The disappearances of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and the Warrior of Light were perplexing, but left little that Nejiro could do about it, so with their absence, he'd wander the world to keep monsters and beasts in check, wherever a good mercenary might be needed. The least he could do was keep the world safe until the big hero returned. And Nejiro didn't doubt he'd return. What did surprise him though was the Warrior of Light calling him across dimensions to help an entirely different world. Being not of the Source originally anyway, Nejiro wasn't too concerned about making the hop, and with a little help from the most Bounteous of Branches, Nejiro was able to appear and help in a few instances of battle alongside the Warrior of Light to protect the First. When the Scions eventually managed to return, it was business as usual again.

Nejiro Obake

  • We are well over 18, Nejiro will never be portrayed under 18.

  • Also 18+ Content may be featured. Including Lewd.

  • Trigger Warnings: Depression, Mental Illness, Trauma, Violence.

Despite appearing fine, Nejiro has indeed suffered lifelong Depression. And while he hides it, he is severely neglectful of it. The character has long been my own means of handling topics like Depression, Mental Illness and the need for Self-Care. This making him a lens for people to see how harmful Self-Neglect is and the toxicity and damage that not addressing Mental Illness does. Hopefully people can realize how bad the current culture around Mental Illness is, and that Depression is far more serious than many people think. As well as being a survivor of near planetary destruction and being a puppet of an incredibly corrupt corporation. And then the number of times incredibly impactful events occur within Eorzea. We also intend to deal with Trauma, PTSD and Survivor's Guilt. There will also be points dealing with the likes of Consent, and Limitation of Choice.

  • Maelstrom: As a rather high ranking officer, Nejiro has the occasional duties to attend for the Maelstrom. Perhaps you've been assigned to his unit for awhile? Maybe you have a mission to assign him?

  • Hero: Nejiro would never call himself a Hero, but he also would never stand idly by when someone needs help. Perhaps you need that help. Maybe it's a monster attack, or some bad guys being bad. Perhaps, you are the villain he must defeat!

  • Injury: While strong and powerful, Nejiro is by no means invincible. And he oftens throws himself almost recklessly at dangerous work. Many times it pays off, but there are times it doesn't. • Chocobo: Nejiro has a black chocobo called Bowie that is his constant companion out in the field. He's also a part-time Chocobo racer. As a fellow bird lover maybe you wanna say Hi? To him or the bird.

  • Tavern: Nejiro lives a fairly transient lifestyle. Often staying at the local inn or tavern. Maybe you're a fellow patron? Maybe you work there, or maybe even you're the owner?

  • Cafe: Nejiro is a coffee fiend, he doesn't try to deny it. With such a caffeine dependency he often visits the local cafes. Perhaps he stops by yours or one you work at?

  • Recognition: While not one for fame, Nejiro is still a proven and capable adventurer. Such renown naturally spreads. Maybe you have heard of him? Maybe you recognize him out there from his deeds of fighting the Garlean Empire or slaying Nidhogg and his brood?
